Broker's Comments
This 1963 Miller Fifer 26 was brought by the present owner around 16 years ago and he immediately started a complete renovation of the boat. The majority of the work has been done but there is still quite a lot involved in finishing her off. Everything needed to finish her off is present and there are boxes of brass fittings, new parts, old parts, the list is endless. There are around 8 boxes of brand new ropes. I am told that the engine runs but needs a new starter motor.
Built of larch up to the waterline, mahogany above on sown oak frames and 'Cast over from new'. The cabin is Burmese teak and the interior is Honduras mahogany of which there is plenty to finish off the boat. The present owner wanted to make her more sail than power so had a naval architect, F J Harris draw up a new sail plan along with the strengthening modifications needed, which also incorporated a new retractable bowsprit.
When finished this boat will be absolutely stunning.
